Job Description

Reset Therapeutics is a startup biotechnology company that exploits circadian rhythm biology for the generation of novel pharmaceuticals.  While Reset is agnostic to therapeutic area, current discovery programs target orphan diseases and unmet medical needs in metabolic and CNS disorders. Reset performs in vivo and in vitro biology and medicinal chemistry design in house and collaborates closely with various CROs for off-the-shelf and specialized functions critical to the discovery of high-quality clinical candidates.

Reset is seeking a Senior Research Associate with significant experience in industrial pharmaceutical screening to help drive its drug discovery programs.  The primary responsibility of this position is the implementation and performance of biochemical and cell-based assays for the robust screening of compounds.  The successful candidate will join a team of scientists to assess novel therapeutics targeting protein constituents of the circadian molecular clock and its outputs.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•   Work closely with other members of the In Vitro Biology team to develop and optimize target-based screening assays
•   Develop affinity, kinetic and mechanistic assays to characterize GPCR allosteric modulators using various cellular and biochemical methods
•   Develop in vitro efficacy assays to aid in the prediction of in vivo efficacy
•   Develop and implement assays to measure pre-clinical biomarkers for in vivo efficacy studies
•   Participate in the collaborative evaluation of new technologies
•   Contribute to overall laboratory operations

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
You will appreciate a competitive compensation package including excellent benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401k Plan, Life/disability insurance and more).  You will enjoy a challenging work environment, amazing colleagues and the ability to make a difference.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS
•   Ph.D. in Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Biophysics or a relevant scientific discipline
•   Expert in GPCR pharmacology, binding kinetics, and assay development
•   Attention to detail and rigorous observation of variances in methods and results
•   Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and a track record of working well with others
•   Strong computer skills, including Excel, Macros, GraphPad Prism, cloud based software (e.g. CDD and Spotfire)
•   Experienced in the use of radiolabeled tracers and immunological methods in biochemistry
•   Experienced in the use of equilibrium and nonequilibrium radioligand binding assays

ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
•   Familiarity with basic statistical analyses and how to apply them to biological data
•   Previous experience working with allosteric modulators and/or GPCR targets
