Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:  
The successful candidate will be involved in development of qualifiable assays for analysis of in vitro and in vivo samples in support of nonclinical and clinical development programs.  The position requires adaptability to work in a group environment as well as independently.  The work is exciting, fast-paced with direct impact on the company's goals.  The candidate:
•   Performs and contributes technical research and/or development in collaboration with others on the project team
•   Makes detailed observations, analyzes data, and interprets results.
•   Investigates, creates, and develops new methods and technologies for project advancement
•   Maintains high level of professional expertise through familiarity with scientific literature
•   May participate in scientific conferences and contribute to scientific journals
•   May be responsible for identifying patentable inventions
•   May act as principal investigator in conducting own experiments
•   Has willingness to learn and implement new technologies
•   May interact with/train counterparts at sponsoring or CRO companies
•   May interact with/train counterparts in Manufacturing or Research
•   May be responsible for multiple simultaneous projects

Requirements

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND FUNCTIONS:
•   Hand-on experience with ELISA, MSD, fluorescence, luminescence, or similar plate-based binding/activity assays
•   Experience with development, qualification, and/or validation of PK/PD quantitative and immunogenicity assays for therapeutic products
•   Summarize, interpret, and present assay development data and conclusions Experience working with large-molecule biologics or antibodies in a variety of biological matrices
•   expeditiously to project team and/or other groups
•   Perform nonclinical sample testing and analysis based on established procedures and practices; work closely with sample management group
•   Generates SOPs, qualification protocols, data reports, and other related documents for review by senior staff while maintaining excellent lab notebook documentation practices
•   Undergoes relevant training on new SOPs and keeps apprised of new industry techniques/methodologies that could improve analytical methods
•   Participates in internal and external scientific meetings and conferences

EDUCATION AND OTHER DESIRED SKILLS:
•   B.S. or M.S. (preferred) in biochemistry, molecular biology, or related field.
•   5+ years of relevant industry experience in a biotechnology company
•   Demonstrate ability to troubleshoot and produce creative solutions
•   Deep familiarity with regulatory guidances and industry white papers relevant to ligand-binding and other large-molecule analytical methods
•   Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant data analysis software (SoftMaxPro, JMP, Prism, etc.)
•   Ability to work independently or in a team-oriented environment with minimal supervision
•   Strong written and oral communications skills; highly motivated and strong work ethic
