As a Senior Portfolio Marketing Manager, HCP in Gaithersburg, MD you’ll play a pivotal role in channeling our scientific capabilities to make a positive impact on changing patients’ lives. North American Commercial is the ‘face’ of AstraZeneca and MedImmune to our many healthcare clients. They represent many of the most well recognized and respected products in the industry, and build strong relationships with healthcare professionals.
AstraZeneca’s vision in Oncology is to help patients by redefining the cancer-treatment paradigm, with the aim of bringing six new cancer medicines to patients between 2013 and 2020. A broad pipeline of next-generation medicines is focused principally on four disease areas - breast, ovarian, lung and hematological cancers. As well as other tumor types, these are being targeted through four key platforms - immunotherapy, the genetic drivers of cancer and resistance, DNA damage repair, and antibody drug conjugates, underpinned by personalized healthcare and biomarker technologies.
The Senior Portfolio Marketing Manager -FASLODEX HCP will be responsible for the development and implementation of promotional brand plans for FASLODEX. This position will support development of multichannel tactics and promotional execution to healthcare providers including launch preparation and execution for FALCON. Key areas of promotional emphasis include but are not limited to the following: field resources, digital assets, new indication launch planning, and convention promotions.
The Senior Portfolio Marketing Manager, HCP will report into the Portfolio Marketing Director - Women’s Cancer Franchise, and will work in close partnership and with guidance from product specific Brand Strategy Directors and the portfolio Customer Director. This position is based at our Gaithersburg, MD campus, headquarters for our US Oncology and other Specialty Care businesses as well as the US Commercial Center for multiple Therapeutic Areas of our Global Product and Portfolio Strategy businesses.
The Senior Portfolio Marketing Manager, HCP will be responsible for working with the Brand Strategy Director to define and facilitate development of the brand’s promotional plan and programs, and ensure their consistency with brand strategy. Partnering with Business Insights and Market Research Team to define success metrics and analyze performance of marketing programs on an ongoing basis. Optimize plans as needed to improve impact. Assess investment viability of programs based on anticipated ROI/value/impact and formulate recommendations for future plans based on learnings. Collaborating with other functional areas and lead the review process to ensure legal/regulatory compliance and medical accuracy of all marketing materials. Leading the annual operational planning process by shaping the tactical plan and budget required to achieve the brand’s stated objectives and launch goals for new product indications.
Additionally, the Senior Portfolio Marketing Manager, HCP will define and analyze brand performance measurement plans, including the metrics/benchmarks, milestones, and monitoring and reporting systems on a continual basis in order to formulate and recommend new tactics or modify existing plans. Possess strong business acumen skills, as role is responsible for managing multiple program budgets, timelines, process and procedures. Manage partner agency relationships, workflow and related expense budgets. Learn and utilize all promotional processes and tools, including ATLAS for AZAP review and budget management for individual promotions projects.
- Bachelor's Degree in relevant field
- 5+ years’ experience in pharmaceutical and/or healthcare industry with experience in one or more of the following: managed markets, brand marketing, sales, pricing or market research/analytics, strategic planning
- Management experience
- Oncology or specialty care experience preferred
- Great communication skills
- Ability to manage complex projects and work cross functionally
- Demonstrated ability to lead without authority
- Ability to gauge the feasibility, impact and risks of proposed programs
- Comfort operating in a highly regulated environment and industry
- High ethical standards and personal integrity
