Description

• Non-boring, highly-diverse R&D role in formulation for a successful San Francisco Bay Area pharmaceutical company.
• Unique chance for a motivated formulation scientist to have a significant impact while contributing and increasing technical and managerial skills in small-molecule-drug development.
• Requires several years of pharma industry formulation experience from early formulation to process development.  
• Will be supporting a technically-savvy and highly collaborative team leader in building the group's capability to meet the demands of a growing pipeline.
• Needed proficiencies include good hands in the lab, formulation expertise from lead optimization to process development, and exceptional collaboration skills.
• Will gain exposure  to a diversity of projects at various stages of development---from early-stage lead optimization to late-stage process development---and will  interact regularly with a broad spectrum of disciplines.
• To excel in this position requires a solid foundation in the chemistry of small molecule drug formulation• Responsibilities will include form screening, scale-up, tech transfer, CMC activities, and CMO management, to name a few.
• Position also requires exceptional creativity, troubleshooting, and collaboration skills.
• Responsibilities in supervising direct reports will be contingent upon experience, capability, and willingness to assume growing leadership responsibilities.

Requirements

• PhD in Pharmaceutics or an equivalent discipline.
• 7+ years' pharma industry experience in small molecule drug formulation and process development.
• Hands-on formulation experience that includes  a solid foundation in the early chemistry of small molecule drug formulation---including screening, process development, scale up, tech transfer, and CMC documentation, and CMO management.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
