Job Description

Biotheranostics develops molecular diagnostics that support the selection of individualized oncology therapies through improved cancer classification, breast cancer risk stratification and prediction of therapeutic benefit, and predictive biomarker testing.

Biotheranostics, Inc. is seeking a Director of Medical & Scientific Affairs. Hired person will lead the Medical & Scientific Affairs function supporting the emerging field of molecular diagnostics.

Job Description

•   Responsible for development and execution of Medical & Scientific Affairs strategy
•   Leadership of Medical Outreach, including management of Field Medical Team
•   Leadership of Medical Communications, including publication planning, scientific content development, congress activities, promotional review, and medical information
•   Leadership of Medical Affairs post-marketing clinical studies program, including clinical utility, datamining, and health economic studies
•   Medical support of Market Access and Reimbursement initiatives to demonstrate value of proprietary tests (including presentations to medical directors, preparation of slides, clinical dossiers, executive summaries, etc.)
•   Lead strategic initiatives to support endorsement of proprietary tests in oncology clinical practice guidelines
•   Scientific Advisory Board planning and execution
•   Medical review of promotional and training materials
•   Identify and establish relationships key opinion leaders, clinical and research leaders including academicians, clinicians, medical directors and other HCPs, and provide regular support and education regarding disease state awareness and Biotheranostics clinical data
•   Engage in Medical Affairs interactions and initiation and exchange of scientific information with key opinion leaders and other physicians in the oncology and pathology settings
•   Respond to scientific inquiries from HCP customers
•   Support Sales and Marketing teams through training programs and response to scientific inquiries
•   Facilitate involvement in national, regional and local scientific forums including symposia, tumor boards and training meetings
•   Develop and create materials such as slide decks, training materials, white papers, monographs, case report summaries, clinical synopses
•   Organization of scientific advisory boards, key opinion leader management, coordination of clinical trials, and execution of publication strategy
•   Gather market intelligence on competitor products and new products in development


Job Qualifications

•   Ideal candidate will have an advanced degree (PhD, MD) with at least 5 years of industry experience in Medical Affairs, including management experience
•   Molecular biology and/or oncology training with a research and publication record preferred
•   Willingness to travel up to 30%
•   Familiarity with oncology and pathology, and genomic approaches in diagnostic applications and biomarker discovery a plus
•   History of developing relationships with key opinion leaders in oncology a plus
•   Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to explain complex scientific concepts in a clear manner, as well as have the know-how to discuss clinical data with pathologists and oncologists
•   Effective presenter to audiences of various sizes and organizational levels
•   A successful track record of working effectively in multidisciplinary teams and highly adaptable to functioning in a fast-paced environment.
•   Self-motivated and passion for medical innovation, accurate communication of science and commitment to scientific rigor.
