   In this position, you will be required to collaborate with cross-functional teams on the design and development aspects of new device (Medical Device and Combination Product) development projects, working closely with other functions, external suppliers, and consultants.  


   You should have the role innovation skills, and a thorough understanding of design work and design control procedures to be successful in this role.  

   The key element to this role is to manage device and packaging aspects of development projects or support elements of complex projects to achieve project targets in a timely fashion and to agreed quality standards. You’ll also be responsible for planning and reviewing work to ensure that agreed objectives, timescales and budgets are met.  


   Essential Requirements:  

  •      Typically will be expected to have an experienced graduate    
  •      Experience developing Medical Devices and/or Combination Products, preferably in a pharmaceutical environment    
  •      A thorough understanding of the principles and concepts in relation to packaging & device development. The role holder will be required to keep up to date with developments within the industry and understand how they may impact the function, e.g. regulatory guidelines.    
  •      Demonstrated experience of working within device design control procedures such as risk analysis and design reviews    
  •      Be able to understand how a device has been designed and collaborate with/challenge relevant external partners such as design consultants & device manufacturers    
  •      Understanding of key manufacturing techniques such as injection molding and high speed assembly    
  •      Knowledge of materials and polymer science in the context of packaging and device development and manufacture    
  •      Familiarity with medical device regulatory requirements (e.g. ISO13485, QSR)    
  •      A basic knowledge of other pharmaceutical/food/cosmetic packaging & device areas outside of own specialist area.    
  •      An understanding of own function and how it contributes to achieving the objectives of the business and a general understanding of other functions.    
  •      Advantageous to have experience of preparing regulatory documentation.
