Description

Contributes to the development of SAS programs in support of clinical data analysis performed by statisticians and clinical groups, including creating data sets to produce data analysis tables and lists.

Provides analysis programming including generating reports, tables, listings, graphs, statistical analyses, and applications to satisfactorily fulfill requirements. While some programming is maintenance programming (modifying existing programs), the majority is writing new programs. 1
Converts moderately complex scientific and other technical problem formulations to format processed by computer.
4 Contributes to design of program templates. Works with team members to develops new subroutines or expands program to simplify statement, programming, or coding of future problems. Serve as lead programmer for assigned compounds. 4
5 Assists in resolving statistical formulations, and encodes resultant equations for processing, by applying knowledge of branch of science or advanced mathematics such as differential equations or numerical analysis, and understanding of capabilities and limitations of computer software.

Requirements

Knowledge and skills

Required:

Knowledge and understanding of the company’s products, the competition, the pharmaceutical industry, and the company’s work tools, processes, and policies.
Strong computer skills with demonstrated experience in statistical base programming and database management.Excellent knowledge of SAS programming
Strong knowledge of relational database structures Knowledge of CDISC SDTM dataExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsStrong organizational, and problem-solving skillsBe flexible and result-oriented  





Physical Demands and Work Environment

Travel (approximately 10%)




Education and Related Experience

Required:

BS in computer science or related + 5 years professional work experience in the pharmaceutical industry
SAS qualification
Experience with data management processes
Pharmaceutical statistical training
