We do this with the utmost integrity even in the most difficult situations because we are committed to doing the right thing. We continuously forge partnerships that help pursue world-class medicines in new ways, combining our people's exceptional skills with those of people from all over the globe. As a Senior Biomedical Informatics Scientist you'll play a pivotal role in channeling our scientific capabilities to make a positive impact on changing patients' lives. GMD (Global Medicines Development) drives late-stage development of our innovative pipeline, transforming exciting science into valued new medicines and ensuring patients around the world can access them.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
We are looking for a Senior Informatics Scientist to join our Biomedical Informatics team, delivering innovative informatics solutions and analytics that will support the process of bringing new drugs to patients.
Biomedical Informatics is part of AstraZeneca’s Advanced Analytics Center, a hub of data scientists dedicated to transforming drug development decision-making through applied data science. The Advanced Analytics Center, part of our Biometrics and Information Sciences organization, is a melting-pot of advanced and innovative statistics, informatics and computational science. Biometrics & Information Sciences drives good design, to generate the data needed for quality decision-making on AstraZeneca's late stage projects.
As a Senior Informatics Scientist you will integrate AstraZeneca’s data with external data, and applying industry-leading visual analytics to derive novel insights. The role will see you contributing to global drug-projects, working on challenges requiring a questioning nature and a keen eye for detail.
As Senior Informatics Scientist your main responsibilities will involve working closely with our Global Medicines Development clinical study teams to maximize the interpretation of clinical studies, developing and delivering new analytics capabilities across therapeutic areas and patient safety, maintaining a keen interest in biomedical informatics advances, spotting opportunities to test new approaches, and using an entrepreneurial spirit to make them happen and fostering collaborations across our multi-disciplinary Advanced Analytics hub.
The new era of drug development brings a host of information, which is used for modeling, trial design, simulation and decision-making. Significant opportunities lie in the ways we use this information in the delivery of great medicines. This is where you'll forge your career as an exceptional informatician, quickly responding to drug-project questions and take opportunities to develop innovative methods.
