The successful candidate will be critical member of a research biology team tackling a number of key oncogenic drivers. We are seeking an adaptable molecular/ cellular biologist with the ability to rapidly deliver high quality data to answer specific biology questions. A background in the areas of cancer genetics, target validation, drug discovery or cell signaling would be ideal. This is a unique opportunity to join a successful group and directly influence the future direction of ARIAD’s drug pipeline.

Candidates should possess at least 5 years lab experience in a world-renowned signaling/ genetics lab or have worked in a cell biology pharmaceutical lab. Although previous oncology experience is not a prerequisite for this position, candidates with relevant knowledge/ techniques will be looked upon favorably.

Responsibilities:

• Rapidly generate high quality data that increases our biological understanding of emerging cancer targets/ compounds and elucidate the mechanism of action of therapeutics at the molecular and cellular level
• Generate, validate and implement target-related screening assays
• Plan experiments, analyze data and troubleshoot
• Analyze, interpret and present data in the appropriate format
• Drive the evolution of ARIAD’s drug discovery platform through the implementation of new techniques/ technologies
• Actively liaise with chemistry and pharmacology to drive drug discovery projects
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and regulatory guidelines governing commercial and scientific interactions with healthcare professionals, payers, advocacy and other business partners.
• Serve as a role model for compliant behavior that is consistent with the mission, vision and values of the ARIAD organization

Requirements



• B.S. in life science with 5 years lab experience or eqivalent
• Direct experience in tissue culture, sh/siRNA, western blotting, stable cell line generation, virus production, proliferation/ signaling assays, PCR, vector construction and ELISA’s
• Experience in cell automation, microarrays, qPCR or next generation sequencing would be advantageous
• Ability to analyze, interpret and troubleshoot experiments independently or with minimal guidance
• Knowledge of the key signaling pathways implicated in oncology is preferred
• A very high level of self-motivation and independence combined with a strong desire to deliver high quality data
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• The ability to effectively work in a multi-disciplinary team and in a fast-paced environment
• Strong commitment to business ethics
• Understanding of, and experience with, regulatory framework applicable to interactions with HCPs, payers, advocacy and other business partners
