Description

Aragen Bioscience, Inc. is a contract research organization that provides a diversity of service offerings including molecular and cellular biology, stable cell line development, protein purification and process development as well as customized immunology and in vivo services. We are seeking an innovative and motivated professional with experience in complex and routine protein chemistry processes to be a member of a team executing projects involving the purification, characterization and analysis of monoclonal antibodies and recombinant proteins.  

The successful candidate will make significant contributions to our rapidly growing bioservices business and interact constructively with scientific counterparts in our diverse customer base.  The individual will play a key role in the day-to-day, hand-on performance of laboratory work, documentation and presentation of data, and troubleshooting protein chemistry related problems. This individual will also serve as a scientific resource to company scientists involved in projects in other fields.

Requirements

Requirements for the position include:
(i) a Ph.D., Masters Degree or equivalent experience in biochemistry, biochemical engineering or a related discipline, (ii) deep and broad knowledge and understanding of protein purification, analytics and biochemistry, (iii) demonstrated expertise with Biacore (or similar methods, e.g. ForteBIO) and HPLC based methodologies, (iv) hands-on experience in running small to mid-scale chromatography columns and TFF systems and (v) significant experience with AKTA instrumentation and Unicorn software.  The individual will be respectful of scientific method and results driven.  Good oral and written communication skills are required.  He/She must have demonstrated ability to work independently in the laboratory, maintain detailed written records of the work accomplished and work as a member of a matrixed team.  A demonstrated capability to multi-task various high priority projects is a must.  At least five years of directly relevant experience in the biopharmaceutical industry is required.
