Role Description

The Target Protein Engineering group within the Biomedicine Design department seeks a protein expression and analytics scientist tasked with assisting in the expression and analytical characterization of target proteins and antibodies in transient and stable eukaryotic expression systems to support immune protein screening, activity assays, binding assays, structural characterization, and/or to advance knowledge of candidate therapeutic proteins.



Responsibilities

- Transient expression of soluble and cell surface proteins in eukaryotic expression systems, including mammalian cells, insect cells, and yeast. - Development and use of assays to support the analysis of recombinant proteins and cell lines using flow cytometry, ELISA, Octet, and other common analytic techniques. - Creation of stable mammalian and insect cell lines expressing recombinant target proteins or antibodies

Requirements

Qualifications

- Minimum of BS/MS in life sciences with 3+ years hands-on bench experience in a Pharmaceutical or Biotech setting working on scientific projects directly relevant to requirements for this position - Proven experience in mammalian cell culture and stable cell line generation is required. - Proficiency in flow cytometry (including cell sorting) and associated software tools (e.g. FLowJo) is essential. - Demonstrated competency in development and optimization of ELISA and related immunoassays is highly desirable. - Familiarity with E.coli expression systems is desirable but not essential. - Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills, and ability to work effectively in a team environment - Excellent oral and written communication skills - High level of precision, accuracy, and attention to detail is essential. - Strong organizations skills - Ability to manage multiple, sometimes disparate projects in parallel, while maintaining attention to detail
