Vertex Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated scientist for our DMPK group in San Diego, CA.  The successful candidate is required to have solid training in pharmacokinetics, and apply his/her knowledge and technical experience to address critical PK and PK/PD related issues to support the drug discovery and development process in multi-disciplinary team setting.
 
Key Responsibilities:
• Evaluate in vitro in vivo correlation in pre-clinical species to guide drug design and candidate selection in early discovery.
• Design PK and PK/PD experiments and develop mathematical models to elucidate PK/PD relationships in pre-clinical species
•Integrate pre-clinical data for human PK and dose prediction

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications
•  Ph.D. in pharmaceutical sciences or a relevant field with 2+ years of experiences in PK and PK/PD modeling.
• Proficiency in WinNonlin/Phoenix is required; SimCYP and GastroPlus or other modeling and simulation software is desirable
• Familiar with Watson and bioanalysis with LC/MS/MS methods
• Excellent communication skills
