Job Description

Jounce Therapeutics is seeking an experienced translational scientist to contribute to the development of novel therapeutics in the field of cancer immunotherapy. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing multiple aspects of preclinical and clinical development of biomarker assays and applying histologic techniques and image analysis to better understand the tumor micro-environment. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, s/he will be expected to proactively interact with project teams and external collaborators to provide insights and brainstorm ideas on how histologic techniques can be applied to advance programs forward.

Provide insights and support in histology, Immunohistochemistry, RNA in situ hybridization and other tissue-based assays to programs from discovery to clinical stage.
Working with the pathology team and pathologist to enhance efficiencies of biomarker validation using immunohistochemistry, RNA in situ hybridization and other techniques.
Selective exploration of novel multiplex imaging modalities with the potential to advance programs forward.
Manage and guide the development of SOPs for the central lab; manage the scientific review, QC and presentation of vendor results.
Write, update, and provide training on laboratory SOPs, provide input on SAP, and data transfer agreements and clinical study reports.
Train and continuously develop scientists in the pathology group.


PhD or DVM in immunology, oncology, pathology or related field with post-doctoral research and a minimum of 2 years of experience in industry setting related to translational research and strategies.
Experience in histologic biomarker techniques and imaging analysis is required.
Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Excel in cross-functional, collaborative and fast-paced settings.
Experience in immuno-oncology, biologics, molecular biology and cell biology preferred.
