Summary
Seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Oncology team and contribute to the development of novel therapeutics in the field of immuno-oncology. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying histologic techniques and image analysis to better understand the tumor microenvironment and inform our clinical programs. Identification of potential biomarkers and supporting companion diagnostic assays for novel therapeutic targets and agents are included in the scope of this position.

Responsibilities
* Apply expertise in Immunology, Cancer Biology and/or the Tumor Microenvironment to support pre-clinical and clinical projects
* Provide support in histology, immunohistochemistry, RNA in situ hybridization and other tissue-based assays to our immuno-oncology programs from discovery to clinical stage
* Perform image analysis, data management and data QC to inform our clinical PD1 and Lag3 antibody programs
* Work with pathology, precision medicine and research teams to identify and validate biomarkers, using immunohistochemistry, RNA in situ hybridization and other techniques
* Collaborate with Image analysis group, Pathology, Sample Management and Precision Medicine groups to develop image analysis algorithms across different tissue staining platforms
* Identify novel cancer targets using various resources, including scientific literature, patents, bioinformatics databases, knowledge based tools and input from consultants and clinicians
* Explore multiplex imaging modalities with the potential to apply to clinical sample analyses

Requirements

Primary job requirements* PhD or DMV in immunology, oncology, pathology or related fields, with post-doctoral research and/or a minimum of 2 years of experience in industry setting related to translational research
* Strong understanding of Immunology, T cell biology, tumor microenvironment, Immunotherapy for cancer
* Expertise in digital pathology and image analysis platforms such as Indica Halo, Definiens, Tissue Studio, Aperio Image scope, ImageJ, Fiji
* Strong knowledge of tissue-based assays, including immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization, multiplex imaging modalities, confocal microscopy, live cell-imaging, primary cell culture, flow cytometry, protein detection assays, protein-protein interactions assays.
* Ability to utilize bioinformatics tools effectively
* Ability to design, effectively communicate and implement research plans
* Strong organizational and time management skills
* Abilities to work in a fast-paced multi-functional environment
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to work within a team, coordinating with other Scientists and Research Associates
* Self-motivated, and enthusiastic about curing cancer
