Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Scientist to join our Medicinal Chemistry research team. The candidate will have very recent academic experience with modern synthetic methods and a strong current knowledge of synthetic advances. Working on one of our interdisciplinary drug discovery programs you will analyze SAR, propose target molecules, evaluate different routes, and synthesize molecules for biological assays. The successful candidate will work closely with scientists from our biochemistry, pharmacology and pharmacokinetics groups to efficiently evaluate and progress lead compounds. Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
• Design, synthesize and purify novel drug-like compounds
• Organize and prioritize workload to meet timelines
• Analyze biological data and propose new targets for synthesis
• Communicate results, ideas and proposed plans informally and in meetings
• Work collaboratively within a dynamic team environment to achieve project goals
• Demonstrate intellectual curiosity and scientific versatility

Requirements

Qualifications
Qualifications include:
• Ph.D. in synthetic organic chemistry
• Demonstrated expertise in multi-step synthesis and compound purification
• Knowledge of common spectroscopic and analytical techniques (NMR, MS, HPLC)
• Detail oriented and fast paced independent problem solver
• Excellent organization, written and oral communication skills
• Good interpersonal skills, flexibility and the ability to work well within a team environment
