Job Description

Well-funded Bay Area (South San Francisco) clinical stage biotechnology company is looking for an experienced immunologist/cell biologist for our biology group. We are focused on small molecule therapeutics to target autoimmune/inflammatory disorders and oncology based on the biology of protein homeostasis.  Our lead compound, KZR-616 (a selective inhibitor of the immunoproteasome) is in clinical trials and we have multiple drug discovery programs targeting protein secretion. This is an exciting opportunity to play a major scientific and strategic role in the research and development of novel therapies for serious diseases. This position will lead discovery projects to clinical candidate nomination. He/she will be responsible for all aspects of in vitro biology including assay development for lead characterization and optimization, mechanism of action studies, clinical pharmacology and correlative studies. In addition, this position will make contributions to other ongoing programs and new/emerging projects.  Hands-on participation in project-related experiments will be essential to success in this position. Flexibility to work simultaneously on multiple projects under tight timelines and changing
priorities is a must for this position.

If the thought of getting a company off the ground and making a major impact in drug development sounds appealing to you, please send your resume to contact@kezarbio.com.
