Job Description

The Scientist II will apply his/her expertise to Atreca’s oncology preclinical research program. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to interact and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a dynamic and fast paced scientific environment. In this role, the Scientist II will oversee and perform multiple efficacy studies testing various therapeutic agents and combination regimens in mouse tumor models. Job title/compensation commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Duties and Responsibilities:
•   Design, conduct and interpret preclinical efficacy studies using mouse tumor models to test activity of drug candidates
•   Develop and optimize in vivo mouse tumor for use on Atreca’s oncology program; assess and establish early PK for lead compounds
•   Analyze experimental data, summarize and present research findings to colleagues and various scientific audience
•   Prepare protocols and annual reports for IACUC revision
•   Coordinate activities with functional and project team members, interface cross-functionally with other departments

Requirements

•   PhD with postdoctoral experience in Cancer biology, Immunology or related field
•   2-4 years of experience working in in vivo preclinical testing anti-tumor drug candidates in mouse models. Industrial experience is preferred
•   Demonstrated proficiency with in vivo efficacy mouse models, including mouse syngeneic and xenograft models. Hands-on experience with tumor cell inoculation, animal dosing, tissue collection, tumor measurements and data recording
•   Experience in providing management  and training to new research associates in all required animal research procedures
•   Experience writing animal protocols and implementing new techniques
•   Must demonstrate the ability to work independently and as well to work in small teams
•   Professional is expected to be highly organized, detailed oriented and to have excellent communication
•   Proficiency in animal welfare and overall knowledge of federal guidelines for animal care and use
