DESCRIPTION
   We are looking for a highly motivated and qualified individual to help us achieve our goal of launching innovative new technologies for characterizing heterogeneous cell populations at the single cell level.  The successful candidate will lead the expansion of our single-cell sequencing approach across multiple applications and sample types. The candidate will develop novel molecular biology protocols and reagents at the core of a new approach to single-cell genomics.

Requirements

Job Duties
•   Establish protocols for cell or nuclear isolation from tumor biopsies, FNA, fresh frozen and FFPE samples.
•   Evaluate the compatibility of different sample collection and preservation approaches with our single-cell sequencing approach.
•   Optimize nucleic acid isolation for different types of clinical samples.
•   Investigate sample specific NGS library preparation methodologies.
•   Interface with outside vendors for sample sourcing and cell sorting as needed.
•   Contribute to technical discussions and collaborate with engineering and analytical groups.

Experience
•   PhD in molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, or a related discipline.
•   3-5 years industry experience required.
•   Extensive molecular biology experience is required. Examples include: nucleic acid isolation and amplification, primer design, and sequencing library preparation.
•   Record of developing novel molecular biology and biochemistry protocols.
•   Extensive experience working with liquid and solid tumor samples.
•   Ability to prepare single-cell suspensions from various sample types.
•   Experience with DNA isolation from FFPE and other clinical samples a plus.
