As a Scientist in Cancer Cell Biology-Drug Discovery, you will become a key member of a dynamic and collaborative in vitro biology team responsible for applying molecular and cellular approaches to progress cancer drug discovery projects.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
:

Your primary responsibility is to develop and run cell-based assays to identify early-stage lead molecules, explore drug mechanism of action and to further understand target biology. Your efforts will ultimately lead to the identification of drug candidates and the generation of compelling preclinical data packages to progress promising drug discovery projects towards clinical development. You will be expected to maintain cell lines in tissue culture, develop and perform cell-based assays including, but not limited to, cell growth, survival, cell cycle, apoptosis and specific mechanism of action assays and perform additional cell techniques such as western blotting. You will be responsible for working closely with project teams to meet goals in a timely manner.

Major Responsibilities

  • Maintaining mammalian cell lines in tissue culture
  • Developing, characterizing, implementing, running and troubleshooting medium throughput cell-based screening assays
  • Performing and interpreting mechanism of action and cell biology studies
  • Generating and maintaining clear experimental records
  • Organizing and clearly presenting experimental results to the project team

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Cell Biology or equivalent
  • Demonstrated proficiency in data processing and data management
  • A positive, collaborative attitude and natural desire to learn and improve

    Preferred Background

  • Cancer cell biology
  • Drug discovery experience at biotech or pharmaceutical company
  • Familiarity with multiple assay platforms/screening technologies
  • 1-3 years of assay development experience
