Job Description

Dart NeuroScience LLC (DNS) is seeking an experienced DMPK scientist to conduct, lead and manage metabolite identification and profiling studies in in vitro systems (liver microsomes, S9, plasma, hepatocytes, etc.) and in vivo systems (mice, rat, dog, monkey, human).  Other job duties are to design, lead and manage in vitro and in vivo studies to understand and characterize the absorption, distribution and elimination of drug candidates.  Responsibilities include strategic input to Discovery Teams in order to advance compounds to preclinical candidate selection, and collaboration with other scientists and management in defining DMPK workstreams for specific drug candidates.  The scientist will also be expected to perform related tasks and activities as assigned by the company.  Strong experience in areas of metabolite identification, mass spectrometry and HPLC is essential.   The preferred candidate will also have demonstrated expertise in allometric scaling to assist in predictions of human exposure for clinical dose selection.

This position requires the successful candidate to generate, analyze and present data, both orally and as written reports.  Knowledge of GLP, development and regulatory guidelines is required.  The position may also require training and supervision of Research Associates.  The ability to work independently, excellent communication and presentation skills are required.

Requirements

•PhD in bioanalytical chemistry or related field with 5+ years of industrial experience
•Extensive knowledge of DMPK science, particularly metabolism, and experience in applying DMPK concepts to drug discovery and drug development
•Strong expertise in developing and troubleshooting LC-MS/MS methods and instrumentation
•Ability to set up, validate and conduct new DMPK assays
•Experience in allometric scaling and human exposure prediction a plus
•Good organizational, record keeping, presentation and communication skills
•Ability to work independently and within a team environment
