Description

Samumed is a biopharmaceutical company located in San Diego, CA.  We are seeking a dynamic, creative and dedicated Scientist to join our team.  This position requires a Ph.D. with 3+ years experience (postdoctoral or industry)  in Neurosciences and/or field of neurodegenerative disorders.

Requirements

As a Scientist in the Drug Discovery team, specific responsibilities and  qualifications include:  
-Expertise in in vivo neurodegenerative models including, but not limited to Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s and Down’s syndrome
-Skilled at various Cell and Molecular Biology techniques including siRNA knockdown, assay development, real-time PCR, reporter cell line development, immunofluorescence and immunohistochemical techniques, flow cytometry, and tissue culture
-Versed in normal neurological physiology/development and associated disease pathways in neurodegenerative disorders
-Proficiency in in vivo animal (rat, mouse) handling and ability to establish necessary animal models
-Industry experience working  in Drug Discovery team is a plus
-Critical data analysis, presenting results, and  working collaboratively with others in-fast-paced environment to achieve objectives and meet timelines
-Proven track record of productivity with publications in peer-reviewed journals
-Provide effective and detail-focused communication and documentation of research results
