Job Description

Overview of position: The Scientific Sales Representative sells scientific solutions into the life science (biopharma, CRO, hospital), as well as clinical (hospital and diagnostic lab) segments.

•   Achieve assigned sales goals and objectives for assigned accounts selling to both Clinical and Hospital labs and Life Science Research Academic labs to grow existing revenue as well as penetrate new accounts
•   Appropriately position company and products in the territory via: face-to-face presentations, proposal responses, and/or solutions
•   Visit / maintain customer communications within the assigned territory on a regular basis
•   Demonstrated success in communicating the value of the organization and its products.
•   Establish personal credibility with all levels of prospect’s management and their buying influencers
•   Demonstrated effective account management
•   Provide accurate timely booking forecasts to sales management
•   Perform thorough Sales analysis in response to customer needs
•   Work with the ALPCO’s Field Application Scientist and/or Product Management to conduct demonstrations / training, etc.
•   Develop appropriate level of prospects to achieve personal quota cold calling, mailings, and other prospecting techniques


Qualifications and Skills:
•   Bachelor’s degree in business or life sciences or equivalent education and experience
•   Familiarity with Diabetes/Obesity Research and/or Clinical Gastro Enterology fields are considered a plus.
•   3-5 years proven scientific sales and account management
•   Highly motivated and target driven with a proven track record in sales
•   Excellent selling, communication and negotiation skills
•   Prioritizing, time management and organizational skills
•   Ability to create and deliver presentations tailored to the audience needs
•   Demonstrates a professional and mature demeanor
•   Strong influencing, and leadership skills, critical thinking skills and the ability to constructively challenge ideas and assumptions
•   Be a self-starter that is quickly motivated, recognizes opportunities, communicates ideas, and acts with minimal direction in a fast-paced environment
•   Excellent knowledge of MS Office, Salesforce, Salespad (a plus)
•   50%+ travel required
