Responsibilities:
•   Partner with Global Infrastructure Services, Enterprise Capabilities and IBM Services to deliver future SAP solutions and strategies.
•   Orchestrate key proof of concept pilots/programs to assess the potential business value of new business SAP functionality/technologies.
•   Lead the design and implementation of SAP solutions across business units.
•   Drive and articulate the SAP infrastructure roadmap, driving business value by influencing customers to leverage existing investments whenever possible.
•   Participate in project/release scoping discussions with business units to understand requirements and complexity to ensure the appropriate SAP infrastructure services and capabilities are available.
•   Lead and conduct design reviews, ART and technology reviews, direct vendors and interface with SAP OSS for problem management.
•   Release (cutover) planning, articulate and determine timelines for various cutover activities, serve as technical escalation point and SME for various SAP database technologies.
•   Partner closely with infrastructure teams and suppliers on architectural design, application upgrades, release and project implementations, capacity management and system performance.
•   Leverage understanding of SAP application patterns within the pharmaceutical market to promote usage and articulate business value.
•   Responsible for ensuring Solution Delivery vendor understands technical roadmap and assists in translating the design into implementation specifications.
•   Translate complex technical solutions to functional peers, business customers and management
•   Research new technologies and data strategies to advance Lilly’s SAP platform.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications:
•   Bachelor’s degree in information technology
•   3+ years of experience with SAP on Oracle
•   3+ years of experience with SAP on DB2
•   3+ years of experience working in a regulated environment
•   Strong knowledge of SAP infrastructure technologies and design methodologies
•   Understanding of high availability, disaster recovery and backup technologies
•   Working knowledge of LINUX, HP-UX, Solaris, Windows and VMware

Additional Information:
•   The Application Operation Services (AOS) team within G&A IT provides infrastructure support for Lilly’s SAP platform.
•   The SAP Data Architect is responsible for driving and influencing technical infrastructure design for various SAP solutions .
•   The person in this role will be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all SAP database platforms including Oracle, DB2 and HANA.
•   They will partner with other AOS Solution Architects to provide technical oversight of a global service provider.
•   The SAP Data Architect will also partner with other AOS and Functional Solution Architects to design and orchestrate the delivery of new business enabling technologies to meet the needs of the future.
