Description

The Territory Manager, Massachusetts , Maine and New Hampshire, is responsible for achieving sales and gross profit goals of EMD Millipore product lines within the assigned region and assigned territory.
Primary responsibility is to drive sales growth while maintaining existing business within the assigned territory to meet or exceed goals.
Requires a broad based knowledge of basic scientific procedures, testing methods, and equipment coupled with the ability to listen, identify customer needs, and provide product solutions.
Candidate must possess effective sales techniques, business acumen, and presentation skills to successfully close sales of assigned products through multiple sales channels.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage assigned sales territory and product portfolio to consistently meet or exceed established revenue goals.

  • Devise and execute business plans and strategies to establish new account sales and expanding existing account sales.

  • Utilize product expertise and application knowledge to successfully conduct effective consultative selling presentations.

  • Complete and submit sales reports and documentation in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Monitors product performance, market needs and trends, and industry activities in recommending strategic objectives with customers and future product development.

  • Developing and fostering business relationships with customers and distributors, with focus and prioritization on contacts with high growth potential.

Must possess time and territory skills needed to effectively manage travel and expenses. Candidates should be located in the Massachusetts region.
60 % primarily local travel but may include overnight stay and meetings outside of home territory

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in science or related field or demonstrated equivalent experience is required.
  • Broad based knowledge of basic scientific procedures, testing methods, and equipment coupled with the ability to diagnose customer needs and provide product solutions.

  • High motivation level, requiring little direct supervision, with orientation towards results.

  • At least 3+ years demonstrated experience in regional and national distribution channel relations, direct selling experience, or combination thereof is highly desirable.

  • 2-5 years of sales experience in a related product line or industry is highly desirable.

  • It would be preferable that the candidate has prior sales experience working for companies like Sigma  Chemicals or similar

  • It would be preferable that candidate has prior sales experience calling on Key Accounts and end users at the major Biotech, Pharma and Academic accounts within the Cambridge, Massachusetts region
