JOB SUMMARY:
Responsibility is to create and develop on-going business relationship with clients including planning, organizing and selling scientific equipment, reagents or services for life science research market.  The candidate will be responsible for assigned territory and will work closely with field application scientists for product demonstrations, training and post-sale technical support.  Ideal candidate will be technically savvy with 3 – 5 years of selling experience with established contacts in both academia and industry.  Good working knowledge of life science research market including cell-based assays, toxicology, and cancer.  Additionally, the individual must possess excellent presentation and account management skills and meet or exceed forecasted goals with strong closing skills and abilities.  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Reach or exceed product sales goals for ACEA products, reagents and services through creation, implementation and execution of Sales Action Plan.
2. Will be the primary client contact and must maintain good customer relationships.
3. Work closely with Field Application Scientists to conduct demonstrations, installations, training and technical support.
4. Generate and maintain forecast for accounts in territories and provide information regularly to management.
5. Identify and analyze new sales opportunities, implement action plans to secure new business.
6. Develop strategies for demonstrations and presentations of products to potential and current customers to support the sales effort.
7. Obtain and analyze competitive information for products and report to marketing or business development departments.
8. Strong client-focused approach to work, ability to relate to key client personnel and KOL or Faculty in a professional manner.
9. Significant travel in assigned territory to support product lines and customers, at least 50 percent.
10. Maintain appropriate communications within area of responsibility.
11. Attend trade shows and scientific conferences to identify prospects.
12. Perform other activities and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCES:  
1. Bachelor degree in Life Sciences, Health Science or equivalent degree in science discipline.
2. Minimum of 3 to 5 years sales management experience selling scientific instruments (capital equipment) and reagents in Academic, Medical Device or Biotech markets.
3. Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with management, sales team and customers.
4. Strong analytical, numerical and reasoning abilities.
5. Results-oriented, technically savvy with the ability to drive sales in life science research market.
6. Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal with ability to interface with diverse personalities.
7. Effective project and resource management with proven ability to handle a broad range of clients and/or accounts.
