*Responsibilities  
The Biotechnology Research group at the Lilly Biotechnology Center in San Diego is seeking an experienced Ph.D. level scientist with a track record in successfully investigating complex biological pathways using mass cytometry.  The focus of the work will be to enhance core capabilities in mass cytometry (CyTOF) and establish standardized procedures for use across multiple therapeutic areas.

The candidate must have prior hands-on experience with mass cytometry (CyTOF) applications including phenotyping analysis and signaling pathway analysis.  The successful candidate must understand key concepts in antibody panel design and signal optimization.
•The candidate will be expected to be familiar with a broad range of biochemical and cell biology assay techniques in order to characterize antibody binding and function.  Prior experience in intracellular signaling analysis using cytometry techniques is highly desirable.
•The candidate will be expected to establish a panel of core capabilities utilizing CyTOF technology to enable a deeper understanding of biological processes across a broad range of pre-clinical and clinical samples.
•Expertise in SPADE and/or viSNE analysis (or other high-content algorithm tools) is required.  Excellent proficiency with FlowJo software is a must.
•Authorship demonstrating the application of mass or flow cytometry in high quality publications in top tier peer-reviewed journals is a plus.      
•The candidate is expected to work independently at the bench and have excellent communication skills.  The role will involve broad interactions with colleagues in antibody discovery, protein engineering and the core therapeutic areas. The candidate should demonstrate clear understanding of experimental design and data analysis of complex, multi-parameter datasets.  Responsibilities include development and documentation of standard operating procedures. Excellent work planning and record-keeping is essential.

Requirements

*Basic Qualifications  
•Ph.D. degree in Biological Sciences at least 2 years relevant laboratory experience in mass cytometry.
•Experience in immune cell isolation and multicolor flow cytometry.
•Proficiency in cytometry data analysis software.
