COMPANY DESCRIPTION
IncellDx is a growing single cell, molecular diagnostics company, dedicated to revolutionizing healthcare by combining molecular diagnostics with high throughput cellular analysis. We focus on critical life threatening diseases such as HPV/cervical cancer, lung cancer, breast cancer and urologic cancers.

Located in Menlo Park, CA, IncellDx is seeking a Research Scientist to implement, test, and validate prototype molecular and companion diagnostic products.  The following is a list of responsibilities and qualifications for possible candidates.

Responsibilities
•   Utilize cell-based molecular and biochemical techniques to develop prototype assays
•   Conduct assay/reagent feasibility studies, individually or in conjunction with a senior scientist, to qualify functionality as intended
•   Conduct studies, individually or in conjunction with a senior scientist, to optimize assay/reagent parameters and product configuration
•   Conduct testing, individually or in conjunction with a senior scientist, to verify and validate assay performance and product design
•   Write protocols, summaries and reports to document prototype development
•   Participate in planning and purchasing equipment and supplies needed to perform prototype development
•   Collaborate with development department to ensure accurate transfer of prototype design
•   Support on-going manufacturing and field operations by performing investigations and trouble-shooting as needed

Requirements

Qualifications
•   BS/MS in molecular biology, biochemistry, or related field.
•   Preferably minimum 3-5 years’ experience with molecular diagnostic product or clinical R&D
•   Technical proficiency in flow cytometry, cell culture, and/or molecular biology.
•   Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities; working knowledge of statistical analysis techniques highly desired.
•   Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•   Comfortable in a quick paced environment, able to shift priorities when needed.

Work conditions and physical requirements
•   The work is performed indoors, in a biology laboratory and a general office environment.
•   Minimum use of hazardous and/or toxic chemicals and potentially hazardous biological materials.
•   Some tasks require the ability to work for extended periods of time at the lab bench, performing complex, repetitive manual tasks and detailed visual observations.
•   Some tasks require the ability to work for extended periods of time on a computer.
•   The employee must be able to read, write, and communicate fluently in English.
