Research Program Manager will be responsible for coordinating clinical research activities for The Johns Hopkins Lupus Center. This position will include supervision of other clinical coordinator staff members working on the Lupus research studies and prioritization of the efforts of these coordinators. This person will work to develop several different lupus research protocols simultaneously and with several investigators, supervise participant recruitment, data collection, data management, research activities, sample processing and maintenance of the IRB applications of Lupus research studies. This person works on complex local and multi-center clinical studies, which require a high level of knowledge, coordination and data abstraction. Also, this person will be responsible for the organization, entry, maintenance, and accuracy of all patient clinical research data for complex and detailed research studies. Research protocols will vary in length, complexity, procedures required, number of subjects to enroll, and site. In addition, as part of a clinical translational group of investigators, this individual will aid in the development of new clinical research protocols as new projects and new funding develops in the next few years
Essential Job Functions: The Research Program Manager will be responsible for overall day-to-day management, coordination and facilitation of various projects. Will work closely with faculty, staff and the division and serve as a liaison/contact person for study participants and community partners. The research duties will include designing, conducting and analyzing data; preparing grants and reports for funding agencies, manuscripts for publication, and development as needed; writing, preparing, and submitting new applications, amendments, and progress reports; coordinating and facilitating all communication and activities among team members. This employee will also create and maintain databases and should have data management skills including organizing, managing, extracting, and analyzing data.
Bachelor's degree in related discipline required. Related Master's preferred. Five years related experience required. Demonstrated supervisory or lead responsibilities required. Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula. JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. Additional related experience may substitute for required education on the same basis. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.Preferred Qualifications:
Master of Science degree. Training with clinical research desirable. SAS preferred. Knowledge of SAP a plus.
