Description

OncoMed Pharmaceuticals is discovering and developing monoclonal antibodies capable of destroying cancer stem cells involved in the formation and growth of solid tumors.

We are looking for a person with excellent experience in molecular and cellular biology to contribute to the in vitro and in vivo validation of cancer stem cell-specific therapeutic targets. Candidate’s primary responsibilities will be to support target validation studies carried out in mouse tumor xenograft models. Most studies will involve the use of lentiviral and adenoviral vectors. Prior experience with both viral and mouse work is required. Familiarity with cancer biology, immunology, or stem cell signaling pathways would be very helpful. Outstanding technical skills are essential and should be reflected in excellent scientific contributions

Requirements

• B.S. or M.S. degree
• 3+ years in biological sciences
• Solid experience in molecular biology, tissue-culture and protein detection techniques
• Familiarity with viral vector systems
• Prior experience with mouse work, including tumor xenograft models
• Good knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety regulations
• Proficiency in cloning software and database management
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced and challenging environment
• Ability to work independently
• Excellent oral and written communications skills
