Job Description

Summary:

We are seeking a highly capable and motivated research associate to assist in the functional characterization of antibodies and other recombinant proteins as part of the core protein expression and purification group. This person will play a critical role in supporting preclinical efforts in developing novel antibody-based therapeutics. Title will commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities:

   
        
  • Design, develop and optimize experiments that characterize antibody function
  •     
  • Antibody and recombinant protein purification and analytics
  •     
  • Data analysis, report generation and presentation of results
  •     
  • Documentation and tracking of reagents and reagent requests
  •  

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in biological sciences or relevant field
  • 2-5 years of post-baccalaureate lab experience in a research and/or industry environment
  • Proficient in tissue culture of mammalian cells including human cancer cell lines
  • Technical expertise in flow cytometry and cell biology assays
  • Demonstrated experience with antibody binding assays including: kinetics (SPR-Biacore/Octet), ELISA or related technology
  • Ability to perform routine tasks independently and commitment to high quality analysis and documentation
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical, organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Excellent teamwork and written/oral communication skills
  • Flexibility and prioritization skills to meet personal and group goals

Preferred Experience:

  • Design and implementation of new assays and technologies
  • Understanding immunological functions and systems
  • Protein purification and liquid chromatography techniques
  • Analytical chromatography, mass spectrometry and/or glycosylation evaluation
  • Characterization of protein-protein interactions
  • Molecular amplification and cloning techniques
  • Mammalian transfection and protein expression
