Job Description


We are seeking an energetic, highly motivated, organized, and creative cell biologist to assist Seattle Genetics' Protein Sciences group. This position will assist with core protein expression projects, and also participate in design and functional characterization of engineered antibody-drug conjugates and their targets. Level will be commensurate with experience for the right candidate.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A track record of generating reproducible and reliable results with limited supervision, yet understand when to seek input and when to make independent judgments
  • Proven creativity, problem-solving, and written/oral communication skills
  • Self-motivation to understand the principals of ADC biology
  • Eagerness to work in a fast-paced, flexible and collaborative team environment


  • Expression of recombinant proteins in mammalian cells
  • Characterization of engineered antibodies and ADC targets
  • Organization/documentation of methods and results



  • Bachelor's degree in cell biology, biochemistry, or related discipline
  • 3+ years of relevant industry or academic lab experience
  • Experience in mammalian protein expression; preferably mAb expression in CHO
  • Experience with CRISPR and/or lentiviral recombinant cell construction & characterization
  • Working knowledge of recombinant antibody function strongly preferred
  • Expertise in phage display strongly preferred
  • Expertise in cell and/or tumor biology a plus
