Job Summary:
Apex Life Sciences is searching for a qualified, highly motivated Immunohistochemistry Research Associate responsible for supervising the daily activities and outcomes of the pathology laboratory. This position will have a role on the performing a novel new spatial profiling technology services, an approach for measuring expression levels of proteins and nucleic acids in a highly multiplexed manner in specific areas of tissues (a new paradigm in Digital Immunohistochemisty). The work is highly interdisciplinary and will involve working closely with biologists, hardware and software engineers.  This position reports directly to the Director of Pathology Operation.

Essential Duties:
•   Perform tissue processing, fixation, embedding, and sectioning, with excellent quality for LM
•   Develop immunohistochemistry stains protocols and write SOPs
•   Pathology laboratory setup and maintenance, including, performing preventative and corrective maintenance of pathology equipment and instruments
•   Coordinates inventory, ordering, and stocking of supplies
•   Maintain a high level of compliance and efficiency
•   Record and maintain detailed records
•   Effectively collaborate with other team members, including engineers, scientists, biologists, and senior management
•   Develop SOPs and train new employees

Will be a Thursday-Sunday Shift

Requirements

Requirements:
•   BS in biology, pathology or related field with 3-5 years of hands-on experience in histopathology and working knowledge of IHC
•   Perform routine histology, including tissue preparation, embedding, sectioning, staining and imaging
•   Immunohistochemistry experience is strongly desired. Experience with Leica Biosystems Bond RX IHC auto-stainer.
•   HT (ASCP) or HTL (ASCP) eligible; certification preferred.
•   Experience with imaging and assays involving tissue preparations.
•   Monitor hazardous waste generation for correct labeling and storage to comply with local and federal safety regulations
•   Must be able to work in a fast pace environment and multi-task
•   Strong data recording and interpretation skills
•   Strong written and communication skills
•   Works independently and troubleshoots technical problems
•   Good organizational skills
•   Highly detail and quality oriented
