Description

Position Summary:
The ideal candidate will assist in the planning, setup, execution and reporting on rodent in vivo cold ADME, pharmacokinetic and toxicology studies to support early discovery analog testing through lead candidate optimization. Responsibilities will include SOP and protocol development, data collection and analysis, and the preparation and presentation of written and oral data summaries and reports. Other duties will include assisting in in-vivo model development/validation and implementation of new technologies as applicable.

Minimum Basic Qualifications:
•   Experience in small animal handling, injections (IP, SC, PO, IV, etc.), blood collection, and tissue sampling and necropsies required.
•   Ability to work as a team player to facilitate timely and quality data collection is critical
•   Good communication skills and the ability to interact with people from diverse backgrounds are required
•   Commitments to lab safety and the humane treatment of animals are required.
•   Laboratory supply and equipment management experience in an in-vivo lab setting are preferred.
•   Computer literacy is essential. Experience with word processing, spreadsheets, presentation/graphics programs and/or MS Outlook are a plus.
•   AALAS certification with 2-5 years experience or Bachelors degree with 1-3 years relevant experience

Requirements

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
•   Studies will be conducted in the spirit of the GLPs, therefore knowledge of GLP regulations is desirable.
•   Ability to compile, summarize and present collected data to the Non Clinical Development team for discussion.
•   Familiarity with Culex auto sampling system a plus
•   Familiarity with Provantis data collection software a plus
•   Familiarity with Safety Pharmacology models a plus

Work Environment:
•   BL1/2 level laboratory
•   Frequent handling of experimental rodent species
•   Normal business hours, but may occasionally require off-hours duties

Physical Demands:
•   Lifting of items up to 20 pounds
•   Routine laboratory activities
•   Extended periods in the laboratory wearing personnel protective equipment (PPE)
