Job Description

Summary:

The Antibody Discovery group at Seattle Genetics is looking for a highly motivated entry level research associate to join our group. Seattle Genetics is the industry leader in tumor-targeted antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), and the Antibody Discovery group helps put the ‘A' in our therapeutic ADCs. We are seeking someone to initially assist with cell culture to generate and screen said antibodies, but also someone who exhibits long-term growth potential.  In addition to being responsible for maintaining cell lines and hybridomas and antibody quantification, the research associate will be responsible for generating antibodies and additional key deliverables for other groups. Thus, the successful applicant will not only be adept at experimentation, but also be an effective team player.
 
 Responsibilities:

   
        
  • Passage cell lines, expand hybridomas, and maintain stocks
  •     
  • Quantify antibody using various methods (e.g., flow cytometry, biosensor, multiplex bead-based; UV-Vis)
  •     
  • Maintain impeccable records and generate detailed reports in a timely manner
  •     
  • Participate and present data at team meetings and share responsibility for project milestones
  •  


 Qualifications:

   
        
  • Bachelor Degree in biological sciences or related disciplines
  •     
  • At least 3 months of hands-on tissue culture laboratory experience
  •     
  • Intensive laboratory research experience
  •     
  • Well-organized and meticulous
  •     
  • Demonstrated scientific acumen
  •     
  • Ability to work independently and learn new things quickly
  •     
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  •     
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in fast-paced team environment
  •
