Job Description

The Gladstone Institutes is an independent, not-for-profit research institution affiliated with the University of California San Francisco (UCSF), contributing to the health and well-being of all people through medical research, education, and outreach in the areas of heart disease, HIV/AIDS, and neurological disease. The laboratory of Benoit Bruneau at the Gladstone Institutes ( is searching for a Research Associate (RA) to help us study the regulation of cardiac development using mouse models in vivo and induced human pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs). We are looking for candidates who are strongly motivated, work well in a team, and who could start immediately (or upon graduation). There is a potential for one or two publications within a two year time period. Candidates with plans for graduate school, medical school or dental school are encouraged to apply.


-BA/BS in Biological sciences

-At least 6 months practical experience in a research laboratory, preferred

-Excellent verbal and written communication skills

-Strong work ethic

Preferred skills

-Tissue culture

-DNA cloning and PCR

-Preparation and analysis of RNA, DNA, and protein


-Mouse husbandry

-Proficiency in Excel, Word, GraphPad PRISM, Photoshop and Illustrator

-R programming (or equivalent)
