Job Description

Research Associate I, Omniox Inc. (San Carlos, CA)
Omniox is a startup biotechnology company located in the San Francisco Bay Area. We are developing a new class of protein therapeutics for the treatment of cancer and other ischemic disorders such as stroke.

We are looking for a highly motivated Research Associate I to contribute to the development of immuno-oncology therapeutics for the treatment of cancer. Appropriate candidates will have 1+ years of hands-on experience with mice and iv. dosing via tail vein. Knowledge of immunological techniques is a plus. The candidate will be expected to work both independently and as a part of a highly collaborative group, and to have good communication, time management and record keeping skills. As part of a multidisciplinary team, this individual will have an excellent opportunity to contribute to and be exposed to the full scope of biopharmaceutical product development.

Requirements

Education & Experience:
This position requires a B.S/M.S in a biological science discipline and at least 1-2 years of laboratory experience in a biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or academic setting. The ideal candidate will have a broad range of in vivo and in vitro skills. Good candidate would need to be prepared to work in highly dynamic environment of an early stage biotech company, to be able to accommodate flexible working hours and work on weekends and during holidays. Owning a car and the ability to drive are preferred. 
Skills:
• Experience with in vivo studies including mouse handling
• Experience with iv dosing via tail vein in mice REQUIRED
• Experience with in vitro techniques such as immunohistochemistry, ELISA or flow cytometry is a plus
• Strong critical thinking skills, oral/written communication skills as well as excellent organizational, time management, and record keeping skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast pace dynamic working environment
• Ability to successfully interface between members of the preclinical team, as well as other groups within Omniox
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PPT) and/or Google documents
