Description

Ambrx is a biopharmaceutical company enabling a new field of protein medicinal chemistry, using a fundamentally new technology that directs incorporation of amino acids beyond nature’s conserved set into biosynthetic proteins to produce high value biologics products.  Ambrx is seeking a highly motivated scientist to be a key member of a fast-paced and dynamic organization.  We are looking for a highly energetic, collaborative and creative researcher with a passion for science.  

Position Summary:
1. This individual will join mammalian cell culture process group to focus on upstream process development from small scale to bench top bioreactor
2. Prepare DNA plasmid for large scale transient production
3. Participate large scale transient process development and production to support R&D activities
4. This individual will also participate in proprietary cell culture media development for Ambrx’s technology
5. Participate in developing HTP cell culture platform from 96DWP to bench top bioreactor
6. Maintaining all necessary equipment, such as probes, bioreactors, shakers, Vi-Cell and NOVA Bioprofile
7. Prepare stock solution for media development
8. Maintain good record for notebook and experiment report
9. Lift heavy equipment such as 20L glass bioreactor or bags weigh 20 lb

Requirements

Position Requirements:
1. Bachelor or MS degree in biology, biochemistry, or chemical engineer or equivalent experience
2. 0-3 years experience in upstream process development and cell culture media development
3. Experience with  CHO and other cell host for producing mAb or recombinant proteins
4. Good skills with aseptic technique
5. Experience with small scale cell culture vessels, such as 96 DWP, Spin tubes, shake flasks, and bench top bioreactor
6. The ability to succeed in a multidisciplinary, fast paced and diverse team environment
7. Strong organizational skills and the ability to document experimental results.
8. Experience with large scale transient transfection  and stable cell line development preferred
