The Amgen South San Francisco Protein Technologies group is seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to contribute to research stage projects. The Research Associate will be responsible for generating DNA constructs for target validation, lead generation, and lead characterization against therapeutic targets. This will involve applying molecular biology techniques for designing and cloning gene constructs, as well as making DNA preps for protein expression and cell line development.


Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or Bachelor's degree complete by August of 2017.
Associate's degree and 4 years of scientific experience
High school diploma / GED and 6 years of scientific experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and 1+ year scientific lab experience


Master's Degree

Trained in molecular biology techniques (PCR, transformation, DNA preps) with hands on experience in cloning.

Experience with DNA sequence analysis software

Automation in liquid handling systems and high throughput cloning experience.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work independently and effectively within timelines and to collaborate within a highly multidisciplinary environment.
