We are currently looking for an outstanding Research Associate with a range of skill sets to become a member of a collaborative, cross-functional research team. Primary responsibilities will be in the area of molecular cloning and characterization of antibody variable regions.  Successful candidates will be independent and creative researchers, capable of experimental design, execution and troubleshooting.  


B.S. or equivalent in life sciences or related discipline with four or more years industrial experience is required.

Ablexis is located in Mission Bay, San Francisco, with easy access via public transportation, local surface streets and Highways 101 and 280.

Requirements

The successful candidate will possess the following skills:
-   RNA extraction
-   cDNA synthesis
-   Probe and primer design
-   Restriction analysis
-   PCR
-   Cloning
-   DNA sequence analysis
-   Western blotting
-   Excellent problem solving capabilities
-   Extraordinary attention to detail and planning
-   Outstanding oral and written communication skills
-   Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Experience with other molecular and immunological techniques including recombinant expression technologies and small-scale antibody purification is an advantage.
