Description

We are looking for a highly energetic researcher to join our R&D Formulation group. Responsibilities will include developing liquid and solid enzyme formulations through preparation, characterization, and testing of a wide variety of prototype enzyme compositions. Activities will include setting up and operating process equipment, producing test samples, and characterizing samples using a broad range of analytical and application assays. The successful candidate will develop and troubleshoot methods aimed at measuring the chemical, physical, and microbiological characteristics of protein formulations. This position requires hands-on work in the laboratory and pilot plant.

The Ideal Candidate Has:
Practical knowledge of liquid and solid formulation and processing technologies such as mixing, milling, sieving, spray drying, fluid bed processing, etc.
Hands-on experience in preparation and analysis of small molecule and/or protein formulations
Knowledge of various microencapsulation techniques
Experience in protein analysis and analytical method development (e.g., enzyme activity assays, spectroscopy, gel techniques, colorimetric assay, HPLC, microscopy, etc.)
Good understanding of materials science concepts
Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
Comfort interpreting and discussing data in formal and informal settings


You are qualified to apply if you meet the following requirements:
BS/MS in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Food Science, or related field
1-3 years of relevant work experience, including hands-on laboratory research in formulation development
Understanding of material / protein interactions, basic experimental design and analytical principles
Motivated self starter with good organizational skills and attention to detail
Versatile team player – ability to work on multiple projects at once; willingness to learn new things
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
