Description

Founded in 1995 by two veterans of the pharmaceutical industry, Synteract has a successful track record as a contract research organization, or “CRO,” working with biotech, pharmaceutical and medical device companies. Synteract has handled all aspects and sizes of clinical research trials from phase I and II trials to the larger phase III and IV trials. We have experience in a wide range of therapeutic areas handling both drug and device trials, with an especially strong emphasis in oncology, central nervous system, cardiovascular disease, and ophthalmology.

We are headquartered in Carlsbad in the North County region of San Diego, California and are best known on the West Coast; however, in 2007 we opened a Research Triangle Park office in North Carolina to supplement our capabilities and to enhance our proximity to our East Coast clients. Over the years, we have developed partnerships with trusted international affiliates, and in 2009, we opened an office in Prague, Czech Republic, to enhance our ability to handle both North American domestic as well as global projects.

As a Proposal Manager, you will contribute to the Company’s business development initiatives through preparation of information request responses and preparation of proposals for pharmaceutical, medical device, and biotechnology companies.   You will also contribute to overall department initiatives.

LOCATION:  Anywhere, USA

Specific duties include:

•  Analyzing information and proposal requests from pharmaceutical, medical device, and biotechnology companies to manage all aspects of their clinical trial activities.

o  Developing information request responses.

o  Developing proposals, including detailed scope of work analysis, costs, and timelines.

o  Preparing, reviewing, and processing of contractual documents, such as confidential disclosure agreements, master service agreements, and project agreements.

o  Supporting tracking of information requests/responses, proposal requests/proposals, and contractual documents.

•  Producing periodic reports.

•  May provide training and guidance to junior team members, other departmental personnel, and external team members.

•  May assist with department initiatives, including but not limited to process improvement, system enhancements, and other as assigned.

•  May perform other duties as assigned.

•  Perform all duties in accordance with Synteract SOPs, government regulations, and Good Clinical Practice

Requirements

Advanced proficiency in writing, reviewing, and editing business documents including correspondence, proposals, and contracts. Expert proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and the ability to use Outlook, the Internet, and Access or similar database software required. Must possess a professional demeanor and the ability to communicate effectively/build relationships.  Must take initiative, be self-directed, demonstrates problem solving and a strong sense of urgency to meet sometimes aggressive timelines.  Requires keen attention to detail, the ability to plan, execute and deliver, and effective presentation skills.  Must be able to perform tasks at a high level of customer satisfaction and responsiveness.


Bachelor's degree in a life science or related field of study and a minimum of 5 years proposal writing experience in a CRO environment.
