Phylagen is building a microbial map of the world with unlimited applications ranging from supply chain transparency to public health. We’re seeking a Project Manager to oversee a mission-critical mid seven figure contract with many moving parts including staff travel, budgeting, extensive calendaring of execution steps, vendor management, hardware and consumables inventory management, milestone delivery and customer invoicing.  While the key objectives of the project are already clear, there is much room for creativity and development of innovative methodologies for meeting milestones.  You will be a key player in a cutting-edge venture-backed microbiome startup with significant professional growth potential, and report to Phylagen’s Co-Founder and CTO.

Specific tasks include:

- Develop master schedules
- Manage entire project schedules – tracking progress of tasks/action items
- Schedule and running key meetings
- Liaise with multiple members of management team to track timeline, deliverables schedule directly with vendor’s project manager
- Assign tasks and deadlines, identify dependencies and anticipate resource issues
- Track expenses and customer invoicing
- Track major project gates and dependencies
- Log key decisions, risks and issues
- Produce a weekly status update / dashboard with risks, issues, progress, etc.

- Bachelor’s Degree
- Previous project management experience
- Self-starter mentality, capable of managing multiple projects and/or a single large project with many moving parts
- Results-driven orientation that places a high emphasis on quality and on-time project delivery
- Excellent written/oral communication skills
- Ability to articulate priorities and deadlines to team members
- Proactive approach to keep relevant parties informed of work progress
- Appropriate judgment on when to escalate issues to key stakeholders
- Ability to drive any conflicts to resolution with minimal project impacts


- Master’s Degree
- PMP certification
- Experience in biotechnology
- Experience in early stage technology companies
