   Main Duties and Responsibilities  

   As a Project Manager, you'll lead and manage a portfolio of capital, commercial, technical and site projects of low to medium complexity.  For projects of low to medium complexity, you'll lead the project core team, and ensure team effectiveness.  You'll be accountable for the delivery of the project on time, on budget, aligned with the expectations of key project stakeholders.  For projects of high complexity and strategic programs, you'll provide project management support to the project team leader.  You'll be responsible for leading a project core team to create integrated project plans including scope, schedule, risk and communication plans.  Complete project documentation using the established tools and templates from the site PMO.  Track and report the progress including production of routine status reports and project metrics.  Work with the project team to monitor and control the project to ensure delivery.  

   You will utilize critical path methodology (CPM) to track and deliver on the project schedule. Work with the project team to develop and manage a robust risk management plan.  You will participate in the project management stage-gating process with site Portfolio Steering Committee.  Identify key integration points with other projects and efforts in the enterprise. Elevate conflicts and issues. Contribute to the maturation of project management capabilities at the site through lessons learned, enhancements to the PM tool kit, and additions to the PM knowledgebase. Ensure administrative and financial closure of assigned projects.  You'll be expected to manage multiple project teams.  You will function as the site lead in management of contract resources to execute capital projects.  You will be responsible for supporting functional areas scope capital projects and overall budget health of each project.  Work with project team to ensure delivery of annual goals, resolution of issues during project execution.  You will ensure maintenance of project management knowledge repositories through the PMO.  Highlight project resource, scope, schedule, and support risks and issues to site governance teams.  Develop industry and technical expertise through review of current scientific literature, participation in site technical development, and attendance and participation at conferences.

Requirements

   Essential Requirements  

 
       
  •      Bachelor's Science in Engineering or related field    
  •    
  •      Five to seven years project management experience    
  •    
  •      Capital project experience    
  •  

   Desirable Requirements  

 
       
  •      Five years of experience in biotechnology and/or pharmaceutical environment    
  •    
  •      PMP certification    
  •    
  •      Strong user of MS Project as a tool to create integrated timelines and monitor project progress    
  •    
  •      Experience with project management enterprise systems such as SAP, Primavera, MS Server    
  •
