PROJECT MANAGER

Responsibilities:
The Project Manager (PM) works closely with members of a therapeutic Franchise on multiple drug development projects.  The PM manages change across functional boundaries, anticipates challenges, balances priorities and organizes the project team to implement the project strategy.

Leadership responsibilities cross all disciplines and include:
•Ensuring effective and timely communication to team members regarding project status, key milestones, timelines and key events
•Managing the execution of the overall project per the Development Plan which involves cross-department management and coordination of resources, activities, project schedules and the identification of critical path activities
•Identifying potential strategic or operational issues impacting or hindering execution of the Development Plan
•Developing and maintaining project timelines
•Ensuring effective communication across the team and throughout Isis by convening regular cross-functional team meetings involving operational planning, issue resolution, risk mitigation, outlining key project milestones and notifying teams of changes to Development Plans
•Managing and communicating revisions to the Development Plan
•Facilitating or leading ad hoc meetings and special task forces, as necessary.
•Liaising with peer project managers to assure consistent cross-project standards and to determine overlap of competing priorities
•Overseeing development budgets
•Assisting Alliance Management, Business Development and Finance on partner-related activities
•Other duties as assigned

Requirements

•At least a Bachelor's Degree
•A minimum of 8 years pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry experience, including at least 3 years project management experience
•Working knowledge of the drug development process and regulatory guidance documents (e.g., CFRs, ICH guidelines)
•Exceptional interpersonal, analytical and organizational skills
•Excellent oral and written communication skills
•Ability to initiate, plan, and execute multiple projects and sub-projects with ease
•Expertise in use of project management tools or software solutions.  MS Project and SharePoint experience a plus
•An ability to be productive and successful in an intense work environment
