Description

MedImmune has an opening for a Process Mechanic II at its manufacturing site in Frederick, MD.  This position involves performing preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance on process and utility equipment in support of a cGMP Multi-Product Large Scale Biologics Manufacturing Facility.  This facility operates on a 24/7 schedule.  This will begin intially as a day shift position, but it could move to second shift, which would typically run from 2pm - 10pm.  The appropriate candidate should have the willingness to work the second shift if required.

Requirements

Position:
This position requires good working knowledge of process equipment to include Bioreactors, centrifuges, purification processing skids and columns, glass washers, and autoclaves.
This position also involves good working knowledge of utility and facility related equipment such as boilers, chillers, pumps & drives, reverse osmosis water filtration system, water for injections systems, and clean steam systems.
Experience performing mechanical maintenance activities such as valve rebuilds (diaphragm, ball valves, gate valves, proportional control valves), pump rebuild including seals (positive displacement, air pumps, peristaltic, and centrifugal pumps), agitator maintenance including seal replacements, motor pump replacement/alignment, and heat exchanger repairs. Capable of performing work in the mechanical, pipefitting, electrical /instrumentation or fabrication trades.

Education:
High School diploma, technical school
Or Military training and experience in relevant field.
3 to 10 years in a plant or equipment maintenance
Preference will be given to biotech/pharmaceutical experience.
