Description

This is a full-time position in the Process Development group reporting to the head of cell culture and cell line development. The candidate's responsibilities will include performing transient and stable transfections of mammalian cells for protein production, purifying proteins for research and development use, and cloning and subcloning of stable cell lines for research and cGMP manufacturing.

Specific Duties/Responsibilities
• Basic cell culture practices including aseptic technique, culturing in shake flasks and well plates, maintaining different mammalian suspension cell lines
• Perform transient and stable transfections using a variety of technologies
• Cloning and screening cell lines using manual plating techniques
• Purifying proteins using various small-scale chromatography methods
• Performing basic protein analytics including SDS-PAGE, western blot, SEC, LAL
• Applying good documentation practices with all data and information

Additionally, the candidate will be expected to
• work well in a team environment
• be detail oriented and diligent in performing experimental procedures and in documentation of data in laboratory notebooks
• adapt and adjust to changing priorities and to taking new responsibilities

Requirements

Position Requirements:
BS or MS in Biochemistry, Biology, Molecular Biology or related field
Preference will be given to applicants with prior experience in mammalian cell culture techniques, protein expression, or chromatographic separation technologies.
