Eurofins Lancaster Laboratories Inc., a nationally recognized laboratory, is searching for a Principal Scientist to support the Protein Characterization area of the Late Stage Analytics group in Union, NJ.

Principal Mass Spec Scientist responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

·Analyze proteins and monoclonal antibodies using various analytical techniques to confirm the primary sequence and characterize post translational modifications
·Design experiments and critically analyze the data to determine next steps
·Troubleshoot method and instrumentation problems
·Perform tests accurately
·Produce written documents (technical reports, memos, SOPs)
·Use office- and instrumentation-specific computer software
·Serve as administrator of analytical instrumentation systems
·Train technical staff as needed
·Give technical presentations on work performed

The ideal candidate would possess:

·Experience in protein chemistry and characterization with strong background in Mass Spectrometry (i.e. Characterization of Post Translational Modifications (PTMs), Peptide Mapping, Intact Mass, De Novo Sequencing, etc).
·Strong scientific, computer, and organizational skills
·Strong critical thinking and problem solving/investigational skills
·Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail
·Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
·Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies
·Professional and technical written communication skills

Basic Minimum Qualifications:

·Experience using Mass Spectrometry to analyze monoclonal antibodies
·Experience in the biopharmaceutical industry
·Master’s degree in biochemistry, biology, chemistry, or other related degree concentration with at least 5 years of directly related (hands-on) experience (as listed above) or Doctorate degree in biochemistry, biology, chemistry, or other related degree concentration with 2 years related experience
·Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., with overtime as needed.
