Job Description

Jounce Therapeutics is seeking an experienced scientist to contribute to the development of our lead clinical program JTX-2011. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall preclinical direction of the program and the coordination of preclinical work both within and outside of Jounce to support the clinical development of JTX-2011.   S/he will work very closely with the clinical lead and program team to review clinical data and design and manage preclinical experiments to further support development.  As part of a multi-disciplinary team, s/he will be expected to proactively interact with the project team and external collaborators to create experimental plans, as well as prepare, report and present results.

Develop the preclinical strategy and coordinate research activities designed to help understand key immune oncology pathway interactions and feedback mechanisms to guide clinical development, rational drug combinations and help develop differentiation strategies
Provide scientific input and guidance to clinical project team
Represent program at key scientific meetings and clinical site visits, and coordinate publication strategy for program
Develop and manage key clinical and academic collaborations to facilitate access to clinical samples to support indication selection and to identify target patient populations
Work cross-functionally to support project progression.


An advanced degree is required, preferably a MD or PhD in Immunology/Tumor Biology or related field with a minimum of 8 + years of relevant industry experience
Strong scientific background in immune-oncology with experience in biologics drug discovery.
Experience leading cross functional program teams with proven ability to collaborate and work effectively in a matrix environment
Experience with Translational Sciences and personalized medicine strategies in oncology
Highly self-motivated with a high level of initiative and ability to work independently
Excellent communication skills, including communication with internal and external colleagues and research leadership and good organizational skills
Ability to multi-task and excel in a fast-paced environment
Proven track record in moving programs, preferably biologics, from research through to clinical PoC
