Job Description

Organovo seeks a Postdoctoral Researcher to join our Tissue Applications Team.

Post Doctoral Researcher Responsibilities:
?Design and characterize Liver Disease models using 3D bioprinted tissues.
?Downstream analyzes include toxicity, metabolism, and relevant applications surrounding disease-specific phenotypes.
?Independently fabricates 3D liver tissue constructs using Organovo’s proprietary technology.
?Propose and implement in vitro liver 3D disease models based on unmet needs in the industry.
?Utilize a battery of assay technologies to evaluate effects of modulators on bioprinted tissue constructs, including ELISA, qPCR, viability, histology, immunohistochemistry, or metabolism assays.
?Identify and implement new assay technologies that are disease-relevant.
?Perform primary cell culture and maintenance of bioprinted tissues.
?Prepare detailed SOPs that enable transfer of validated assays to project teams and customers.
?Analyze data and report results to supervisor and internal groups.
?Adhere closely to defined timelines to meet internal and customer goals.
?Other duties as assigned.
?Detail and task oriented with the ability to efficiently document protocols and procedures.

?Keeps calm under pressure.
?Some weekend work will be required.

Requirements

Post Doctoral Researcher Skills & Experience:
Ph.D. in Biology, Pharmacology, Toxicology, or Medical Physiology, with preference for prior experience in liver research.
1-2 years post-doctoral experience is a plus (academic or industry setting).
Potential to lead Research Associates and other support staff as needed.
Extensive experience in the following: mammalian tissue culture, ELISA, qPCR, histology, immunohistochemistry, metabolism assays, flow cytometry, assay development.
Experience evaluating and implementing new techniques.
Experience with liver disease modeling and/or physiology is a plus.
Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary groups in a fast-paced work environment.
Able to work independently on experimental design, execution, and analysis.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and track record of ability to effectively present scientific data
Knowledge of liver and/ or kidney physiology a plus.
