Description

Trait Development and Technology (TDT) at DuPont Pioneer is a research and development organization seeking to develop trait solutions to address agricultural needs. The Research Scientist will drive early stage reproductive biology research to develop, improve and deliver a new trait as part of a dynamic team. Support research activity by planning and effectively conducting experiments; recording; analyzing data; interpreting and reporting on results. Ensure goals are met in a timely fashion.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Demonstrate scientific and technical expertise in a team of researchers collaborating in a multi-disciplinary approach to develop and implement novel crop traits. The candidate will be responsible for providing scientific direction and executing of research plans. Plans and conducts experiments adapting procedures as required. Exercises technical discretion in the design, execution and interpretation of experiments. Manages and analyzes data, summarizes results, and prepares and presents reports. Maintains or improves efficient daily work place operations. Supervises and is accountable for assigned projects and coordinates experiments with other locations. May organize and supervise work of other employees. Will provide critical thinking and creativity when initiating, designing, and executing research projects.

Requirements

Qualifications:
PhD in plant biology, molecular biology, biotechnology, genetics, or a related discipline with a minimum of 4-6 years of scientific research experience required. Equivalent amounts of relevant education and experience will be considered. Demonstrated proficiency in diverse molecular biology and cytology techniques. Demonstrated scientific experience conducting successful experiments in plant reproductive biology with a track record in the form of research publications and/or patents. A broad knowledge and understanding of plant reproductive biology and agricultural biotechnology in general. Good interpersonal skills with proven confidence and awareness needed to interact with collaborators from diverse cultures and geographies. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, on multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
